Designing the Hotel Room of the Future at No Vacancy London

Updated: 5 days ago

We’re beyond excited to officially announce that Harp Design is sponsoring No Vacancy London, and not just in name – we’re designing the stage and the Hotel Room of the Future.

No Vacancy London has become one of the most important hospitality events in the UK calendar, bringing together hotel owners, operators, designers, and innovators who are shaping the future of the industry. So when we were asked to design spaces that represent where hospitality is going, we knew this had to be something special.

The Hotel Room of the Future

Our concept is rooted in one core question:

How can a hotel room genuinely improve how you sleep, feel, and live – without costing the planet?

This room is about performance, wellbeing, and sustainability, working together rather than competing.

Some of the standout innovations going into the design include:

  • A temperature-regulating bed

Designed to optimise sleep by actively regulating body temperature throughout the night. These beds are already popular with elite athletes and, rumour has it, even Robbie Williams has one. This is sleep science meeting luxury hospitality.

  • A water-recycling shower

A shower system that cleans, filters, and reuses its own water – dramatically reducing water consumption without compromising on comfort or experience. It’s a genuine game-changer for hotels looking to reduce operational impact.

  • The most sustainable materials we can source

From finishes to fabrics, we’re prioritising materials that are responsibly sourced, low-impact, and designed for longevity. Sustainability here isn’t a buzzword – it’s embedded into every design decision.

Designing the Stage

Alongside the hotel room, we’re also designing the main stage at No Vacancy London – a space where big conversations about the future of hospitality will happen. The design reflects the same values as the room: thoughtful, forward-looking, and rooted in real-world application rather than gimmicks.

Our Stand

You’ll find Harp Design exhibiting right next to the main stage, so do come and see us. Whether you want to chat about the latest industry news and gossip, explore the Hotel Room of the Future in more detail, or tell us about a project you’d like us to get our teeth into, we’d love to speak with you.

Why This Matters

Hospitality is changing. Guests are more informed, more conscious, and more demanding than ever.

They care about:

  • Sleep quality

  • Water and energy use

  • Comfort without compromise

  • Authentic sustainability, not greenwashing

The Hotel Room of the Future isn’t about trends – it’s about what hotels actually need to stay relevant over the next decade.

We can’t wait to share more as the design comes together and to see it live at No Vacancy London.

If you’re attending, come and see us, experience the space, and let’s talk about what the future of hospitality really looks like.
