IBL Lighting
This lighting isn’t decorative. It’s deliberate.

IBL Lighting is a UK-based manufacturer of high-performance architectural luminaires, specialising in precision-engineered lighting systems that shape space, mood and experience through light, not noise. For the Hotel Room of the Future, Harp Design selected IBL’s Neon Flex lighting to create calm, immersive illumination that quietly supports wellbeing and spatial definition.
Neon Flex is an advanced LED lighting solution that reinterprets the iconic glow of traditional neon with modern technology, delivering uniform, continuous light from a flexible, durable system. Unlike fragile gas neon tubes, Neon Flex uses robust LED and silicone/PVC construction that can be bent around curves, contours, and architectural lines to create seamless visual effects in interior spaces — all while delivering high colour quality, flexibility and long-term reliability.
In the Hotel Room of the Future, Neon Flex was integrated seamlessly into the curved wall behind the bed, providing a soft, continuous glow that enhances form and depth without glare or distraction. This lighting supports calm, restful environments while also demonstrating how intentional light can shape a space rather than merely illuminate it.

How Neon Flex works — in hospitality context
Neon Flex uses a continuous LED light engine encased in flexible material, allowing luminaires to bend around architectural forms while delivering even, uniform light output. Its construction supports a wide range of colour temperatures and configurations — from warm ambient tones to colour-controlled applications. Unlike traditional neon, the system is rugged, energy-efficient and suitable for indoor architectural lighting that also deals with long operational hours.
Part of the Hotel Room of the Future
IBL Lighting is a sponsor and partner of the Hotel Room of the Future, selected for its expertise in delivering lighting that is both precise and purposeful. Neon Flex challenges the idea that hotel lighting must be static or utilitarian — instead showing how light can shape mood, support rest, and enhance architectural form without fuss.
